Hey guys new to the subreddit but i think i will be an active member since i got this old bike gifted to me. I just got the crank arm replaced and it is super loose and i cant identify the socket or i dont even know if i can tighten it myself? Thanks a lot in advance

that looks like a cover to keep dirt and grime out of your crank threads. Have you tried removing it with a flathead screwdriver? Are there threads underneath for a normal crank puller?
it’s a dust cover. usually plastic, or white metal of sorts. It’s a course thread part that can pretty easily be removed with anything like a big flat head driver BUT under it is the hex head bolt that holds your crank on. I forget what size socket that is but it’s a bigger one. There’s a torque setting for that bolt too.
