This is my 2017/18 cotic rocket 27.5 build and I just want to share some details about it and tell a small story instead of it just being a cool looking bike to look at then scroll by.
I’ve always been into my biking, since the age of about 4 years old and I remember my first bike that I learned on, a black and yellow bumblebee bike from the local Halfords store.
I rode BMX on ramps at skateparks and on city streets until about 18-19 years old. I’m 28 years old now and for the last 5 years or so, I’ve been really keen into my mountain biking, fixie riding and road racing and I even work at the local bike shop that has been there for 42 years now!
2 years ago however, I got a steel hardtail mountain bike called a Cotic Bfe – a rowdy 150mm forked hardtail that could do it all!
As soon as I had owned the bike for a few days, I looked into the Cotic company and discovered that they produce full suspension steel mountain bikes and fell in love with the Rocket, their 160+mm travel alpine ready enduro full sus.
Skip 2 years and I’ve been everywhere on my Bfe, even taken it to Berlin and rode around everywhere on it for a week, Only to get back home find a cheeky Rocket frame in my size for sale on Marketplace for a sweet price! So I bought it.
At this point I’ve been working in the bike shop for a few months so I took the Rocket frame into work, and left it there while I picked out a load of parts for it. Then I decided I’ll build a wheel set for it so I did that too!
So now it’s March 2025 and I built the bike in October, and I can honestly say it’s the most capable bike I’ve ever used. Lovely to ride and I’ve never jumped so high and well, never descended like this before and also never been so confident in a bike to keep me safe and not break.
Highly recommend the Cotic Rocket or RocketMax if you’re a big tall person!

Riding in the Hope Valley, or do my eyes deceive?
Purple n green is nature’s winning colour-compliment-combo. Nice.
Got a couple of Cotics – a BFe and Escapade. Both incredibly fun to ride.
