  1. This is more an integrated cockpit than canyon specific thing. We saw the integrated handlebars at first in the pro peloton:
    1. They barely use the top of the handlebar. Most of the time they ride in the hoods or in the drops. So they dont need the tape there
    2. safes a few grams of weight
    3. Looks better (to some)
    4. canyon specific: yes it hides the edge of the two pieces.
    If you like you can always wrap new handlebar tape to cover also the top.

    In order to rest my hands on the flat top of the handlebar I don’t need that padding. It takes too long to reach my brakes, so it’s not a position I use often.

  3. All modern aero handlebars are like this. Nothing to do with the width adjustment feature.
