maybe so maybe not but nothing i would worry about. my frame is raw with no clear coat whatsoever. it has a lot of surface rust, which was the intent (lil jon:train camo colorway) it would take several decades to rust entirely though. that said i think these only retail for a little over $400 new so kinda steep but if you like it and its in your budget, send it!

Nothing a scuff pad would fix if you were inclined. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

  3. Isn’t that just on the bearing or a washer/spacer? Thats like a $20 replacement. You’re good

That minuscule rust is on the headset spacer and won’t be a major issue if one at all. If it bothers you enough, it’s a $25 replacement. I’d buy.

  5. I’ve owned two of these Kink Whips and for $225, that’s a pretty decent deal since it looks all original and good shape. If you are worried about a headset, you can replace it for under $30 easily. Unless it’s not smooth to turn the bars, you are fine as Kink uses all sealed bearings on the Whips.

Good buy. Cromo frame, forks and bars. Worth upgrading over time if its the right frame geometry for you.

  7. Yeah, but it minor as hell and bmx bikes are largely made from steel with many components being untreated so can develop surface rust. It’s part of bmx, perfectly normal, and not an issue

It doesn’t look like much of an issue. Sounds like a good deal for the price!

That’s not any rust to be concerned with. That’s a good clean deal for 225.
