  1. There are a few factors. If you are in a HCOL area bikes tend to be more expensive than LCOL areas. Time of year matters as well. The age,  condition, and features of the bike are the largest factor.

    That is a near mint early 2000s Trek R1000. It is a rather nice road bike. However it is quite dated in its design.

    There are a few things to check with older bikes that have sat for years. Tires can develop flat spots or cracking ~$100-200 to replace. If the seatpost is stuck the bike is worth maybe $50-100 as freeing it can be a major challenge. Grease in the wheel hubs and bottom bracket where the cranks connect into can dry up. They won’t spin freely in that case. A bike service will deal with that for ~100-200 possibly plus parts.

    If it does not need work in a HCOL area I could see someone listing it for 500-600. I would want to pay something around 300-400.
