I can’t think of any reason why hanging bikes like this would be bad. The hook is soft rubber and I put a thick wool sock over it to provide more padding for the wheel

The wheel will be fine it can hold your weight on the road, so an unloaded bike is nothing. Some say you should hang hydraulic brake bikes bars up — so if any air did get in the system it won’t create a bubble down at the caliper. Personally I always question how important that really is as the system is sealed, so air would only enter the system if you already had a leak or issue somewhere. But you can flip it and hang from the front wheel just to be safe.
ive been hanging my bikes for a few years with no issues (1up RS slide – https://1up-usa.com/product/rs-slide). i hang them from the front wheel and the back wheel does rest against the wall which unloads the weight a little.
Also yes, my wife the silliest most paddiest bike seat lol.
