If you had one of those lightweight foldable bicycles, you arrange to have it transported in the plane's cargo hold. Then again, I'd rather 'smuggle' a 2 ft grafted avocado into my luggage! You'd be surprised how much you can very gently bend over the end of a plant stem without snapping it, so that it fits into the luggage. In actual fact, you could bareroot it in the hotel and wrap the roots in moist sphagnum. Then, if it is discovered by customs, there's less chance of confiscation.
Very interesting with the Jacaranda trees. I don't know when they flower normally either, but you might remember from my trip to Tenerife back in May they were covered in flowers then, so it's interesting to see those flowering now (well September). Yeah, I think those citrus, pineapple guavas and figs have been struggling with the summer they've had over there this year.
The late feijoa reminded me of the late annona. I don't know why, but people in a bit colder climate, in the Aegean islands, have been already eating theirs for some weeks now while I never had anything ready before December. Maybe it's just weather adaptation by the plant, but am not sure.

Looked like a really pleasant get-away you had there, Brett.

Nice smooth road for cycling
Loads of pineapple guava
Beautiful Jacarandas. I can't wait till mine reaches a similar size. Could you detect any scent around them?
Those street plantings of citrus need a good feed. Look nitrogen deficient.
Those Pineapple guavas near Nice Airport would probably taste of aviation kerosene fumes!

Ini menarik dan bagus
What a beautiful bike ride. The climate there really is something else. So subtropical!
