Hey all,
I have been using a Tailfin on a Tubus disco rack for a while with an Ortlieb handlebar roll. I want to move the front bag to the rear for the sake of aerodynamics, but I can’t think of a way to secure the tailfin on top of the roll. I have mounts like the one depicted in the picture on rack and on my trailer and I thought making something similar, but on top of a roll, maybe using straps or something. What do think about this?

I would have gone with the actually tailfin frame too. Mounts down the side you can mount cargo cages to. I’m not sure I understand the way you’ve worded your question talking about putting the tailfin on top of the roll. There’s zero space underneath and a handlebar roll would be pretty risky tucked behind the tailfin. My thoughts are you either strap it on top of the tailfin bag, get the rack or install mounts so you can attach your ortlieb bag to the side of the rack, or get the rack with the pannier mounts and just go that way. Not sure what the aero penalty of something strapped behind your legs is rather than to the front of your bike.
