Just been hunting for something with geometry that I like + it needs to be steel. I have parts on hand I’m ready to swap out and a 310 frame set is available locally for a good price. Anyone that’s familiar with this process knows what I should be looking for in terms of parts compatibility? Or maybe a better vintage steel frame?

You could, but you’ll need to bend the rear triangle out to get more than 7 speeds. Plus, it doesn’t have a built in derailleur hanger. There are racier and lighter frames out there
