I‘m quite a newbie. The seat post I check by loosening it, I did that, and the rest I don’t know how to check. Is there a video/ tutorial you could recommend?

  2. For me, it sounds like the chain would jump between two gears… but I guess you ruled that out?

If not, check if the derailleur hanger is loose.

  3. I would take it back to the shop and have them clean and grease the crank/bottom bracket interface. Scott bikes are pretty notorious for being undergreased from the factory causing creaks very early on. While you have it there, I would also see if they’ll do the same to the headset and pivots.

  4. Raceface bottom bracket? I had this exact sound from the spline interface of my bottom bracket and fixed it with this video. It was an easy fix but I already had a couple tools needed like a torque wrench. I had to order some green loctite for a couple bucks. https://youtu.be/iCH4E9gBCU4

  5. Are you referring to the creaking as you pedal? It’s hard to tell from a video but to me it sounds like it’s coming from your bottom bracket which could potentially do with a bit more grease. You’ll need a special tool if you want to attempt to re-grease this part yourself, but with the bike only being a week old I’d probably be asking the shop you bought it from to take a look, I’d expect them to do this for free.
