Built this one for my girlfriend’s birthday in February. I’ve always had a soft spot for old Scott bikes, and this Peak was a solid find—plus, her first real bike was a Scott. Funny to think she was only about four years old when this frame rolled off the production line…

Correct me from wrong but you replaced the rear cantilever brakes with V brakes, didn’t you ? Did they have the cable pulley system ? How is it braking now with the 180° loop the housing is doing ?
I have a similar Scott Santa Cruz myself with the cantis and it’s just godawful, zero bite.
My friend it’s wonderful but the reach to the bars may end up being a little harsh.
