I ran into my partners bike on accident and ever since I’ve seen this rubber casing come out of place. I can’t put it back inside, tried a bunch of times. Is it okay to leave it as it is?

It’s ok to leave it as is, although I think to get it back in you just have to push harder. I have a similar end plug.
It’s just a friction fit housing grommet. It will go back in with enough force. Unless you are having brake performance issues you don’t need to worry about it
Can’t really tell from the pic, but if it’s a soft/squishy rubber, put some soap on it and it’ll go in easy.
The main role of that piece is to keep water and crap out of your frame. It’s easier to get back in if you slide more hose out, then slide everything: hose and grommet back into place as 1 unit. Forcing the grommet down along the hose is going to frustrate you further.
