Folks asked for an update. I put a few miles on it last night. It fits pretty much the same as my krampus, that might be due to the b17 and sunrise bars being the same and the stack and reach being close. The wheel base is long and it's pretty raked out. I spread out the rear end to 135 to fit a disc hub and brazed on a iso disc mount. If you know someone with a lathe, it's possible to have an 1-1/8" headset turned down to the Schwinn 1" standard. This is how The surly troll fork fits. Both wheels are 27.5 with 2.3 maxxis high rollers. The seatposts are 13/16" and the Schwinn ones tend to bend if you get rad, the hot ticket is to find a solid aluminum post. I ordered a fancy one from eBay that had a 5/8" stub machined for seat guts. I'm trying the random YST American to square tapered conversion bottom bracket, also from eBay. The local co-op had the cranks and surly narrow-wide ring and sold them to me cheap. I cut the bigger chainring mounts off and hit the cranks with the flap wheel. My buddy coerced me to try and Tig the cable stops on, I've never tigged before and the learning curve is steep. The drivetrain is 10 speed, with the 11 speed cog left out. I had to use a center- lock lockring due to the bolt on axle. I plan on using this as a MTB when we ride with folks that aren't fast. I'm excited to see what fails. Future plans might include bottle bosses and rack mounts, maybe brazing the seatstay/seat tube junction. Basically everything but the brakes required some custom bullshit to make it work. Apologies for the wall of words, happy to answer questions.
