I haven’t been on a bike since I was a kid, but I’ve signed up for a sprint triathlon in July. Ideally I’ll also start biking ~4 miles to work. Is this bike a good starter for that? And is it worth asking price of $550?
That feels too expensive for my market. 15+ ish years old and Tiagra level. I could see 300 maybe 350.
It’d be a fine bike for commuting and/or a first tri.

I would say that bike is worth $200

Tiagra 4500 9-speed. This bike is from the late 2000’s so more than 15 years old. An equivalent new bike sold today would be Sora R3000 9-speed which would be about $1000 new, so $550 is too high.
This bike isn’t worth more than $400 if it’s in pristine condition.
