Hello there!

I broke my derailleur hanger on my Bridgestone Helmz h10 2014 bicycle… was just pedaling and suddenly it went ‘snap’!

I’m based in Tokyo and I have been to maybe 4-5 bike shops already and asked if they can help me fix it, but they keep telling me that the spare parts are impossible to get as they are outdated and out of production.

Do you know where one might find a new derailleur and a derailleur hanger for my bicycle?

I am not familliar wiith that particular bike model/brand but I can tell you for sure that is your average derailleur hanger and your average derailleur type. The derailleur hanger should have a serial number engraved on the back. You’ll have to remove it off the frame as it looks bent anyways. You should be able to find a spare if you search online “derailleur hanger (insert serial number here)” optionally you can add the bike model just to be sure.

As for the derailleur you can get any derailleur as long as it is the same type, you can even get the same derailleur if you can find it but any derailleur that has the same specs as yours should do the job.

Derailleurs are pretty much universal across bikes, you just need the right number of speeds, compatible with your cassette.

The hanger is harder. Try reaching out to the manufacturer?

  3. I was going to link to derailleurhanger.com but they don’t list Bridgestone. I’d say there’s a good chance it’s common with another brand. Remove the hanger and photograph it in detail, someone here might recognise it

  4. Hanger looks like a Pilo D49, Wheels MFG Hanger 93 or Marwi GH-124

derailleurhanger.com also has quite a large list of manufacturers which this hanger fits on their [website](https://derailleurhanger.com/product/derailleur-hanger-93/). you might be able to find first party hangers from those manufacturers that then fit your bike.

[wheels mfg](https://wheelsmfg.com/derailleur-hangers/manufacturers/jamis/derailleur-hanger-93.html) has some parts numbers that you could search for with the same goal

old microshift 9s derailleurs use the same pull ratio as shimano so you could replace it with a RD-R3000
