I decided to buy a road bike for some dirt road cruising. After the first test ride after buying the bike I decided the pedals and tires needed to go.

I don't plan on using the clips in the pedals so I opted for some Rock Bro replacements with extenders to make it more comfortable and they work well. I am cautiously taking turns and cornering as to not catch my pedals.

I upgraded the tires from 23 mm road tires to 28mm marathon tires and they worked considerably well for the terrain I'm on, but still have some downsides in the deeper sand but it makes for a more entertaining ride.

I got the bike for $300 after new tires, tube's, seat and pedals I should be good to go until the frame gets unusable. Happy to be in the group.

Does anyone have recommendations for a rear rack and a cylindrical Bluetooth speaker mount? I would like to take some longer trips but would like to keep some spare tube's, tools and other random stuff with me.

The first 17 miles went great, I quit smoking a month ago and am excited to get more fun exercise.

  1. That’s awesome! Love the health upgrade from smoking to smoking trails! Keep it up!

I bought my son the same computer, it’s great. I just use kamoot on my phone, which works well for my purposes.
