Saw this on GCN a while back. Using bondage tape under straps to protect the frame. Bondage tape only attaches to itself, so it leaves no residue and is very easy to reuse. Attached this frame bag in prep for a 3 day ride coming up. Worked really well, hopefully it holds up on the rides. (I need to cut the straps, don't judge me)

I use painters tape but that’s just because I’ve got it on hand. I like this idea!
do you mean Hook and Loop? Velcro? never heard bondage tape before! sounds naughty.

I use silicone tape that is thicker and not as wide. I use it for finishing bar tape on my drop bars. Works really well for this as well

I don’t get why you wouldn’t use heli tape, which is very robust and will last forever while being clear, but to each their own.
