Recently, our city (Chisinau, Moldova, republic of) created this bike lane (approx 1km or 0.6 miles) by converting part of the sidewalk. But it has no proper beginning or end, and it’s interrupted by underpasses and bus stops.
Cycling on the road is not allowed if there is a bike lane next to the car lane.
I tried to cycle on this bike lane according to the law

  1. This is a problem in almost all Eastern European cities. They don’t care about cyclists. They just want eurofunds.

Yikes. That’s why I stay in the middle of the regular traffic lane. I don’t move to the right because Florida traffic laws say that I am a vehicle when I’m on my bike and I follow all traffic laws the same as any other vehicle. No one tries to squeeze by me in the lane anymore and get too close, they may get mad and honk but they have to wait till there’s not and oncoming car to pass me which is way safer. I’m also not in the debris on the side of the road.
