  1. Can’t say for sure, but seems about right. There is no real money in MTB racing.

    Note that the pro prize money for Iceman Cometh Challenge is $6K, which is pretty exceptional. And it’s not a UCI race, so “real” pros can’t participate. (Which IMO is dumb.)

  2. Probably. Motocross paid similar not many years ago.The only people making money have contracts with brands that pay them. Everyone else is chasing a dream

  3. If that’s all they make then they must be doing a piss-poor job of promoting the sport. I’m assuming they make most of their money from sponsorships and social media. It’s like any entertainment or sports career these days, your job is really to be a content creator/influencer.

    There are exceptions of course, but that’s about the jist of it.
