Been eyeing this bike on the specialized website which retails for $8500 but saw a used one on marketplace. Just wanna know if this is a good deal vs buying new. Some changes with a few specs so I’m not sure which one will be more worth it. Tnx!

That’s almost six months rent for me
I absolutely love mine that I bought at “Comp” spec and have replaced just about everything on but the brakes. Mine was $5000, so depending on the shape of that it seems like a fairly reasonable price.
It’s a great XC bike, but it feels really harsh for the first half hour after I’ve ridden my Turbo Levo SL, so depending on the type of riding you’re doing the suspension travel/feel may or may not work for you.
Now is the best time ever to buy a bike and there are tons of high spec bikes new from various brands that you can find for around the same price as this one used. And for that reason, It’d have to be a crazy good deal to get me to buy a used bike at that price right now without a warranty.
That’s a ton of money if it’s used
Looks a bit upgraded too. Is that live valve?
I absolutely love my Epic 8. I even have both sets of suspension to swap between Evo and regular. They share the same frame and they ride quite differently so it’s almost like 2 bikes.
Pretty good deal IMO. I snagged a Evo Comp for $4500 OTD from my LBS but I had most of the parts I wanted already. It’s basically a Pro level build now.
Not in this market. Price should be 3k
That’s a pretty crazy price for what it has. Bit strange that the seller downgraded the drivetrain to GX, but everything else looks good
Interesting, but I don’t really get why the seller has changed all those components, especially the suspension. That could change the whole characteristic of the bike and the way it rides.
If this is your first full suspension bike, I’m not sure you’d even know what the difference any of these fancy components would make. You could spend a lot less and get a great fs bike brand new, like a ripley af
The new chisel fs is an awesome bike too if you’re set on specialized
A Fox 36 with 130mm travel seems weird
The name is trying harder than the rider, lol.
Fox float x and 36 is super odd for an Epic Evo. This is supposed to be a light trail bike that you could dabble in XC racing in. If I’m rocking a Fox 36 I’m getting a beefier bike.
Roval Control wheels with i9 hubs is also weird. Not sure they are under warranty anymore with those.
I’d probably want a bit more travel for a trail bike.
