Looking to throw a fender on my single track bike. It has only two mounting points and both bridges.
I am looking for feedback on if it just looks dumb. I plan on using this plastic one as a template to make a metal one. This is the basic idea.

It needs to be longer to actually stop water from splashing all over your back.
It won’t really do anything to keep you dry. Draw a tangent line from the outer edge of the tire to the rear of the saddle: there’s no fender in the way, so it won’t block any of the water or mud that flies off it. You’ll need it to stick out much further if you want it to be effective at all.
If your only goal is to keep the seat tube and bottom bracket shell clean, this’ll do decent work, but your back will get as wet as it would without a fender.
Protects everything except the rider!
You’d be better off with an ass saver. The tire will throw water on your back with this setup.
Someone tell that guy from the WTB Phoenix thread (u/brianlevre ) that thinks collectors don’t ride their bikes that you’re actually riding a $1000+ vintage bike on single track
Don’t think this will prevent spray to your back.
You could take another 6 inches longer without seatstay supports, just to make it look less like a piece of a fender
Sweet frame. The fender looks fine., the bike should be protected but not your back.

Great for the frame. No good for you or the commuter behind you.
I would never let that bike get wet.
I’m an evangelist for the way fenders reduce frame and drivetrain muck, so no quibbles with your priorities! I do second the ass saver idea – I like the PDW origami rear fender. Light, sturdy, and designed to attach to the seatpost.
Ritchey Commando?
Can you please clamp your bike by the seatpost and not the top tube.
