Just buying a canyon neuron CF ltd. I'm 6'1 / 184cm with a fairly long inside leg and short torso/high hips. Saddle height is 80cm from BB center.
According to canyons size guide I cross over on the sizes M and L. In all other bikes I'm 100% a large. Thinking I'll just go large but am I'm missing something? I do have long arms and this bike is fairly slack with a stubby stem…

I tried my friends large Canyon Strive and it was gigantic, I felt like I was riding the Titanic. I always ride a size large normally, Canyon bikes are definitely bigger. In their size guide I’m between a small/medium.
I’m 5’11 and was told by Canyon to go M on my spectral. I went L based on a bit of reading around z and it was a great choice for me.
I’m a L with all other manufactures. Canyon s guide suggested a M.
I got the M and it’s perfect.
I’m 182cm
Canyon sizes tend to be bigger than most manufacturers, but I don’t think you’ll go horribly wrong either way.
I’m 183cm and have both Stoic and Spectral:ON in size M, and Sender in size L. Neither of the M bikes feel cramped or anything to me.
The Sender i’ll probably change to the shortest reach setting, but haven’t had the chance to try it out in action yet so can’t say too much about that.
You’re still a large. It’s Canyons other bikes where the sizing gets proper wonky.
Medium is valid if you were planning on a very control based style of riding, slower speed, tighter stuff, borderline trials hopping features like desert riding.
But for average, casual riding the large should give you a better range of stability at speed and in steeps while still being manageable in slow singletrack.
In terms of torso proportion, its possible that the large with a bit of a riser bar to bring the stack up and reach in… Will yield a better fitment result than simply downsizing the reach and stack overall.
Also as a convenience if the droppers are a different size chances are the L will be specced better for you than the M.
