I had a similar pair but on my new bike earlier this month, just a different brand. I’m taking them back as I didn’t like how wide it made my arm positioning.

I have a pair of SQLab “inner” bar ends on the way where the extended handle sits inside the bar grips instead of outside.

  2. I like ergon ga3. I haven’t found use for the outside bar ends

I do like Innerbarends with some handlebar tape for road sections, mainly just to be a bit more aero. I spend a lot of time on the Innerbarends, moving to the grips at the end of the bars is just for single track mainly or standing. Can also put elbows on tape section for puppy paws on flat road sections

I think GA3 and clip on aero bars would probably be the ultimate solution for doing long ass bike rides on mixed terrain (with a flat bar bike)

  3. These look like they’re doing too much. I worry about the gap between the wing and the rest of the grip. It doesn’t look flush, I can see hotspots being an issue with these. I’d go for some tried and true Ergon grips!

  4. Never use outer bar ends on a trail, since it makes snagging a branch way worse. But on gravel/fireroads, that shouldn’t be a problem.

  5. I know a lot of people who like ergon grips, I’m personally not a fan. I love the ergonomic grips from pro in combination with rfr bar ends the grip position is more fluent wich is less tiering for my hands.but hey every hand is different and y every position also

  6. I ride Ethan gs3’s that are the basic equivalent of these. I dig them, extra wrist support and the short bar end that lets me stretch out and move my weight fwd on climbs

  7. Use the lesser version, smaller bar end. Very happy with them, comfortable and provide an additional position on the bar end.
