But, if that gauge is accurate, you should replace the chain.

I mean can’t you compare it to the diagram on the tool? Of the body of the tool touched the chain it’s 0.75. If there is a gap between the tool and the chain it’s 0.5 or lower… there is a gap between the chain and tool

There are tiny steps at the tip of the gauge, from the bottom (shallowest/narrowest/lowest) step to the top, they are ok, .50 and .75
More stretch is needed for the thicker part to fit thus indicating a worn chain

Does this work slightly differently from Park Tool CC-4? With the CC-4 you are supposed to press the chain against the tool between the two hooks which are closer together.

.625, time to toss it. Can’t say I like the design of that checker. Really like my 30yo park with the dial, but the newer 2 sided one is decent and easier to figure out.

Per the diagram, 0.75 would be flush which this isn’t. This is closer to 0.5 but maybe even less than that imo.
0.4 to 0.5 I would say.
Either way its a replace on a 1x with 10+ gears
There is some controversy around chain gauges. Some people (like me) prefer to measure the chain directly. There’s a discussion here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/s/dfg3ldY21N
