This was a challenging day’s cycling over the notorious Katara Pass between Meteora and Metsovo. Peaking at a height of 1700 metres, there was a lot of uphill pedalling!

Fortunately, the weather was ideal, and the scenery great company along the way. This was day 8 of my cycle touring in Greece trip.

NOTE- Yes I know the audio quality is poor. Not a lot I can do about it sadly, as the audio was recorded through the Go-Pro and it’s not always 100% reliable. On future tours, I may use a separate device to record commentary.

  1. Very inspiring and interesting video series, Dave. I have been traveling solo on motorcycle but have very recently came to the realization that traveling by bicycle has everything I love (minus the speed) plus a feeling of self-reliance because you are the engine.
Best of luck to your journey!
I will follow with much interest.

  2. Hello Dave, i love your video series on Greece…Originally i come from a village very near Metsovo/Katara Pass but now live in Bristol, UK …i'm not an experienced cyclist but you might just have given me the motivation to pick up cycling again…will start with something easy…Bristol – Bath cycle path …anyway i really hope you enjoyed the Metsovo area and Pindus mountains and i look forward to more of your videos!

  3. I cycled the exact same route two weeks ago with my road racer. The road has been upgraded so no problems. 5 cars only passing the pass. Nice views of snowy mountains.

    Best regards

    Arne
