I love the accuracy of eTap, however it’s still a little odd to receive a firmware update notification. My bike is still the last place I expect to see these notifications.

A consequence of the modern world – anything wireless must be updated especially if it connects to your phone or home WiFi.
Everything with a microchip is a potential backdoor and a Flipper Zero can be an unwelcome guest on a group ride.

Same, but SRAM seems to have their stuff together and the updates improve things.

Legitimately one of the reasons I won’t go wireless shifting.
May seem silly, but between work and home, I have so many things that need to be charged, updated, logged in to… Im at the point where I just don’t have another unique password in me.
IDK what the feeling is, maybe tech fatigue? Regardless of the up-sides, I just can’t do it lol

I updated mine yesterday and messaged a friend stating the same thing. I don’t even know what the updates were for lol.

Meanwhile Shimano Di2 levers cannot be upgraded wirelessly 🙃
It needs to have the cable for derailleur to be detached and connect lever to the main battery to work… Shimano is so behind despite bringing electronic shifting first.

They’re worthwhile updates.
