Hey there!
Quick context:
I'm on the way to fulfill an old dream of buying my first really decent bike! I'm 34yo and I only had simple/cheap road bikes until today, but I dell in love with bike trips recently and I've been very fortunate to have some spare money I can invest on my first good gravel bike.
I've been looking for second hand below 1000 euros, and I've found interesting options around 900 euros but none quite the size or color I want.
So I've visited this bike today and the guy wants 1200 euros for it. He said it was bought in late 2022 but almost wasn't used, hence the price.
However when checking for the details on the parts they seemed rather worn out. And I don't know if it's common on gravel because of the… gravel, but the frame lookes more scratched than usual.
I think I could negotiate it down to 1000 euros, but still then I'm not quite sure it's worth it, and I'm questioning the seller's honesty about how much it's been used.
What do you think?
Feel free to give me as detailed or long explanations as you want, I really want to learn and get better at understanding mechanics and buying second hand! Thanks

I have the same bike. In my region you can buy brand new old stock for that same price.
Try to go as low as 900 if possible. But aesthetic wise it’s fine. Try to ride it, It’s a fast and light gravel bike. Aesthetics doesn’t matter much when you’re already riding it.
