It’s honestly very well curated. Radavist worthy stuff. But 3200 is a lot for an old bike to ride. Probably worth it for someone who collects.
Side note: I LOVE the bluish grey on those old XTRs. Peak Shimano aesthetics during the late 80s between those and Dura Ace 7400.

It’s dated but $3200 for a hand made Potts is a steal. There aren’t a ton of high quality WTB’s around. Not quite rare enough to be a museum piece but that would have been a top bike in its day.

As far as the ride and performance, realistically a few hundred bucks will get you there easy. Maybe the novelty is worth it to some looney collector, but think of what that needless extra $3k usd can do for you

For the average person, probably not. A similar bike could be built in your kitchen with enough money left over to buy a Corolla.

Yes you are missing something. This is a top shelf desirable bike for collectors. It’s a beautiful Steve Potts built WTB Phoenix with a proper TII fork. They will probably get close to their asking price. It would be more desirable if it came with the 140mm rear spacing and roller cam mounts front and rear. I highly doubt the value will ever go down. After you fill your garage with Antelopes and Hardrocks a few times over, you may decide to start trading up. Not being an ass, just saying it like it is. There are actually some bikes out there that carry and hold a decent value.
