What tools do I need to remove the whole composite shell? I thread the two cups together, then they press into the frame. Removal wise: I unscrew one cup. Does it pop out and leave the other cup in? Do they both come out when unscrewed? Do I need to press out or hammer out the remaining cup? So confused!!

I just unscrewed one side and got it out. I think you’re overthinking this. Get the tool and have at’er.
Bb removal tool, be sure to match up the number of notches.
You press it in after you threaded it together ?
Threading it together is the seating process.
When you unscrew one, it will leave the other one inside of the frame. Depending on the frame you may be able to push it out with your hands, or you may need specific tools. Also, on some frames you’ll need 2 BB tools because losening one will spin the other instead of actually breaking it loose.
Personally I’ve used the rubberized handle of my chain whip (realistically any firm rubber object will work) as a punch, and slowly tap the BB out from the opposite side (through the opening where the other half came out) working my way around in circles to avoid cocking it sideways. I make sure to tap the end of the threaded cylinder and NOT the bearing itself.
