A few of you have asked me about cycling routes around Folkestone and elsewhere in Kent in recent years, so I thought I’d make a few videos sharing routes, tips and ideas on my YouTube page.
Here’s the first, a short sharp ride from Folkestone over the cliffs to Dover harbour, and back again. It’s a cold February day, and I’m pretty chuffed to have even left the house! It’s about 3°C and there’s a chilly breeze. Normally this would be just the start of a longer route perhaps to Canterbury or do either up the Coast to Whitstable, but today I thought I’d keep it short and sweet. What's your bike of choice Sam? I had a 2004 steel framed Saracen Panorama for 18 years before it wore out, and now have a 2023 Trek Domane 4 (aluminium), which is absolute garbage and I wish I'd never bought it! If I can get rid of it I'll need a new one, and I'll be going back to steel, but there's not much choice, unfortunately.
