About to make a move on a new Endurace – having improved and ridden a Ribble AL Endurance on Tiagra to either of the following:

Or

The only difference i see is a deeper carbon rim on the GRC [35mm vs 42mm]. Although I don't really ride on gravel or off road of any kind, been advised could be a fraction more comfortable. Plus the £200 saving is a bonus on the GRC!

Any comments to suggest the non GRC would be a better option?

  1. Grc (old gen) are hookless. This limits your tire choice and pressure. If this would’ve been the updated version I’d go for the grc… Anyways I would suggest you the cf slx 7 di2 with the erc 1600 wheels. Difference between erc 1400 and 1600 is a slightly different hub with sightly heavier ratchet rings (change them and the wheels are almost indistinguishable). Difference between 105 di2 and ultegra di2 is weight and two buttons on top of the levers (get the ultegra cassette and pulley wheels and update the shifter update and you have the best bang for your buck)
