Trying to build the courage to just throw the damn bars. I think I’m high enough to do it, but I can’t bring myself to just let go. End up throwing the bike, not the bars.
You and me both man, but i feel like your bars being less angled forward will help in the long run. Itll feel more like theyre spinning around the steerer tube vs sweeping like they do when your grips are that far off the centerline of the fork/steering tube

I’m having the same issue, I can’t really offer tips other than what I’ve read. I can see you maybe You need a longer bike. That or your bars are too far forward. The centrifugal force with the bars not more parallel are going to make it harder, with that said it can still be done no problems. My suggestion is practicing pull up bars until you can literally do them one handed and then practice catching them with the opposite hand (do pull up bar one handed and catch with the same hand, then do pull up bars with the same hand but catch with the opposite hand.
Maybe don’t bunny hop so high (yet) because you’ll be able to learn them even an inch off the ground. Three you practice your higher hop and form
Etc

You could try learning them during a quick manual. I hate barspins. One footed X-up’s are way cooler 😂
