Glad I spent the time from the beginning mate, so now I can carry on, So is this year 2 of editing this ride?
Nice of you not to run over that pedestrian, but you missed out on 10 points 😂
Much better weather you had in this one, bike is rumbling nicely cheers
That brought back a lot of memories. I’d mentioned before when you were in Heswall that I lived in Pensby around the same time as you, give or take a few years! You went past places my friends lived and pubs we went. And apart from all the new builds I recognised everywhere. In fact I went there last year as my dad’s (and mum’s) ashes were spread at Landican cemetery and it would have been my dad’s hundred birthday. And of course Prenton Park, like you, where I used to go to watch Tranmere Rovers on Friday nights! Was it still Tom Loughridge’s then, the bike shop in Heswall? Excellent! 👍
It's interesting to see the the towns and cities, and that is one hell of a tunnel! Good stuff, Mick.
You mentioned working in a petrol station at the beginning which brought back memories from my youth. One of my first summer holiday jobs was doing just that and from memory 4 star petrol was around 32p a gallon, that’s around 8p a litre..! How times have changed. 👍
Phew, Mick I'm not sure I should have watched this last thing at night. 😮 Birkenhead, Mersey Tunnel, Liverpool… All that traffic, fair makes this country lad shudder. But for what must surely be the first time on this epic journey of yours, you've daylight, dry roads and dazzling sunshine. I should think riding over the Trough in that low sun is going to be very, very difficult. See you soon 👍
Morning Mick. Enjoyed this leg, reminiscing about your “early” years. I too worked on a garage forecourt, where WE served the customer, checking oil/tyre pressures, giving a shot of Redex, or a shot of Two Stroke oil out of the cylinder on wheels, happy days. There were some dodgy drivers, not to mention joggers who rather run on the road than on the footpath 🫣🙄. Looking forward to part two 😊
I'm glad you posted this section now Mick. I've been planning out trip up to the Lakes, The Dales, Pennines and Peak District. I considered going through the tunnel but seeing this I'll go from Wrexham across to the A49 and then jump on the M6 to Bowland. Cheers bud
