New (2nd hand) bike for 6 year old and only 1 brake caliper squeezing in

Hi guys

I got a used 16 inch bike for my 6 year old son to learn to ride and the front brake caliper only contracts one side

I Loosend the front mounting nut and gave all moving parts some lube but still same problem

Can anyone suggest anything? I dont have much experience with fixing bikes I just ride them . Check the video of the problem :

How would I adjust my kids bike brake calipers here?

  1. The right hand side of the calliper needs to have tension added (viewing from front). Where the brake is bolted to the frame I can see some steel rod wound like a spring and coming down on either side. This is the tensioner but I can’t see how it adjusts, there may be a screw which you should turn clockwise 1/4 turn at a time to increase tension on the side you want to tighten. Hope this helps.
Actually ignore me. This explains it better! https://youtu.be/UOrIVc5lG-k?feature=shared
