Hi all! Looking to buy my first bike and I found this EX 7 Gen 5 for $1700. It has barely any miles on it, all stock and been serviced and collecting dust for years. Just curious if you think this is a good deal for an entry level used full suspension. Thanks!

Two wheels, pedals, a seat, handlebars seem attached, assuming the brakes work, yes
Absolutely, geometry hasn’t changed much in the last 4 years.
Judging by the cassette, appears buddy wasn’t lying. Doesn’t look like it’s been ridden at all.
Tech hasn’t changed that much since 2021.
Price might be a bit high if you’re in the US for that spec level (you can find one new for not that much more), but I wouldn’t be mad at it if you don’t have better options.
Personally I’d be wanting to pay below $1300 for this when I can buy new for $1900 after tax, but not sure what new bike deals are like for you locally.
You can find brand new bikes comparable to this one for close to the same price right now. This bike seems fine, but the price has to be *really* attractive to pick used over new with the way the market is currently.
Me on my 2017 thinking it’s modern…
Sure.
That’s what I’ve ridden for the last four years and I’m still super happy with it. I upgraded the fork but that was mainly because I found a killer deal on a new one. One of these days I’ll upgrade the breaks but otherwise I don’t see myself upgrading to a new bike for a long time.
For reference, I sold the same bike, but grey and black, for $1200 two years ago. $1700 is too much. The bike I had was also barely ridden as well. Get the price down if you can. Geometry is still great.
Yes I am looking for one
I ride a Fuel Ex 5 2021 in 2025 and I absolutely love it.
My mate still rides a 2019 model and rides it like a downhill bike, lol.
Mine is a 2018 EX 8, still rides great.
