Can you show us what the bottom stack looks like? Does the piece that is confusing you fit over the bottom race?

Dang, flash from the past ha ha. Does the rubber seal have a metal spacer inside it?

Not 100% but I think the rubber seal should be pressed into the metal cup above it, should clip into place somewhere, may need to use a screwdriver or something to put it into place. Once done it will fit the cup nicely and won’t poke out like your other photo. I think…
