Hey All – I’m currently training for an Ironman 70.3 triathlon and looking for a used tri bike. I’ve been looking at a used 2006 Cervelo P3C. Its marketplace link can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/share/14uzBub2V4/?mibextid=wwXIfr
What do folks think about this bike? Has anyone used this bike for a similar length race? Should i be concerned on the age of the bike – is a 2006 bike obsolete with newer technology?
Thanks for any input!

It was a top end bike, 20 years ago. It is ancient as far as competitive cycling tech goes.
The real question is how good or competitive are you? This bike would be pretty decent for an amateur enthusiast that doesn’t need that half watt to win or lose a race, definitely not for pros or extremely competitive racers.
It is certainly better than anything modern that you would buy at the same price, and you will not need a mortgage to buy its modern day equivalent.
This is a fast bike. Are their newer and fancier ones, sure. Is there one that will take the power you generate into forward motion more efficiently, not really.
If the bike fits well: you can use the aero position comfortably, and it is the right price, it is an exceptional race rig.
Gently used Tribike, only been peed on twice
what concerns me most is that they decided to hang it with the drivetrain touching the wall. That gives serious pause about how they treated the bike otherwise. If it’s in good shape, go for it. I won my state TT on a trek speed concept from 2011 (10 speed Di2!)
