Mainly have mountain biked and road cycled, fancied giving gravel a go and I managed to get the bike itself for around £300. It is the GRVL 120.
Upgraded the cranks with a second hand FSA Vera Pro for £40, to get narrow wide teeth. Bottom bracket also has been swapped from a crappy plastic one (that somehow siezed and had to be drilled out) to a Shimano metal one.
Tyres have been changed to Goodyear Peak Complete, and set up as tubeless – probably the best change I’ve made especially for the conditions in the UK.
Front brake has been swapped out for a TRP Spyre C.
I do want to make the geometry a little more aggressive, its a bit relaxed for my liking – would getting a straight stem at 150mm help or would that change the handling a massive amount?
Overall pretty happy with it for around 400 pounds that I have spent on it. Not the lightest thing in the world, but pretty good fun to ride. Not sure whether to change the groupset to get a wider ratio cassette as with the 40t on the front this thing is a bit of a grind to climb, but may just save the money for a better gravel bike in a few years.
