It’s used to keep the cable and cable housing from snapping at insertion to The brake lever Or gear shifter. I know the other piece in the picture is called the cable noodle but what is the spring one called?

Its likely there because this looks to be some sort of “folding/travel” bike. If you need a replacement or an additional one contact the manufacturer whose name is on the frame as its a part not common.

That looks like part of an [egg whisk](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/cf/6a/cc/cf6accd4c81c2a4c529d54208727bce7.jpg) or some kind of cable [strain relief](https://static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/31UK49_AS01) device but I’ve never seen one used on a brake cable on a bike before. Kind of looks like someone miss cut the brake liner too short and raided the kitchen utility drawer to McGyver a solution.
