You did well.I climbed it about 20 years ago, then it was closed to motorised traffic. Climbs in the alps are rarely that steep, just very very long. I prefer the Pyrenees, mainly because they are mostly in Spain where there more cafes and bars and itβs much cheaper.Thank you for posting.
8 inches π
you must have some ancestry from the netherlands. i've never seen the peak district from this angle! (sorry) how are you getting 22.2 inches? 42×18 with the hub gear reduction on 37-349 should still be ~25", no? the 12 speed brompton has potential for ultra spinny gearing. could go under 12" low gear even, without over torquing the hub. hmmm

Tremendous respect and to do it fully loaded is quite a feat. I would struggle on my 2×5 speeds Superlight Brompton (24 gear inches at the lowest) I think I can do it with my current fitness, but I'd be gasping for air for sure.
I'm pretty much riding on SPD Clipless pedals on my Brompton full-time. No slip, and u can backpedal to recycle ur stroke.
Congratulations Sir, an impressive achievement and an inspiring experience, πππππbest wishes π
That was one hell of an effort my friend, but it looked so miserable for you in that wretched rain. So very well done!…
