My wheels got stolen.
The only rims second hand online I could find for a decent price that were the same as my stolen ones had an xd-r freehub.
I bought because online it says “The Shimano CS-R7000 11-speed cassette is compatible with an XDR freehub body if you use a 1.85 mm spacer behind the cassette”
But trying to put the cassette on; the grooves on the xdr are only about three cogs deep… the remaining 8 cogs are just on their loose obviously just moving all around; whereas I guess with a hg freehub, the grooves would go through the entire cassette and the freehub body doesn’t become narrow at the end…
How do I make my cassette compatible with the xd-r freehub? Is there an attachment that goes on the xdr freehub?

i don’t know which AI told you that, but shimano cassettes are absolutely not compatible with XD-r or XD feeehub bodies. You need an 11 speed HG freehub body.
it’s not compatible huh ur cassette has a HG interface
i think if you put expandable foam it might hold, i have done this in a pinch but it’s obviously not a long term solution
Two options:
– buy an XD-r cassette
– Replace the XD-r freehub body with an HG body
