Hi All, I'm stripping down this old Allez and rebuilding from scratch (I know it's not worth the money really but a fun little project to get to know bike mechanics more).
This screw nut that the front brake screws into inside the top of the front forks – can this be removed? It's putting up a hell of a fight…

Yep, it will come out.
Take a punch (or something similar) and insert from the front.
Tappiddy tap tap tap. It’ll come out.
If its super stuck take a 5mm allen key and turn it back and forth to break it free. Then tap tap.
