  1. That rotor is looking pretty straight, which implies to me that your caliper is off. Have you tried recentering it?

  2. …you now look at why your pads are crooked.

Misaligned caliper? Pads worn at an angle (and needing replacing)? Piston issue?

Take the rotor off and lay it on a flat surface to check it. Mark the spot and give it some gentle force with a rotor fork or adjustable wrench. Check for flatness, repeat as necessary.

Put the rotor back on, test it. If it’s still out of alignment, swear, then buy a new one.

  4. flat mount? sometimes those arent really flat on the frame and you’d need to use a facing tool.

  5. I hate it when it when my wheel goes crooked. Horizontal dropouts are a nightmare for alignment

face the brake mount or grind the pad down. you say it doesnt need facing so grind the pad. many times ive come across a post mount that needs facing. the larger adapter you use the more any sort of deviation in the facing will show.

  7. Push the pads and pistons back and realign the caliper again. As long as it fairly aligned after, the pads will self wear ans self centre/align after a ride.

  8. Surely, there is a springy thing in the housing that pushes the pad against the rotor, it should self align or the pad will wear.

Some rub is within tolerance. Unless this is causing an issue somewhere else I wouldn’t worry about it.
