this is exactly what happens to worn chains/Kassetten. here, we call it Polygon-Position. Its when the Chain gets “longer” and only some parts of the Chain fits into the teeth.
but try to measure the chain. maybe its Not that Bad and you can keep the chain for some miles and change it after the winter.

When it will start to skip on the biggest cog, than you have to change. Both the chain and cassette. Till than just send it.

It has some wear, but if it doesn’t skip it’s fine.
But why use a kmc chain on shimano 12 speed? Shimanos HG+ will give you some of smoothest loaded shifting out there if you use their 12 speed chain on their cassettes, using other brand chains on Shimano 12 speed cassettes is a downgrade.
