Cleaned, lubed, swapped to 1x and a nice crank … plus threw on nicer Panaracer tires , but boy is this thing still heavy!
Tubes for days haha
In a high gear on the cassette the chain sips a bit …. But based on this photo in big-big I can’t shorten it any further …. Maybe needs a proper narrow wide chainring or a new chain

And the double top tube ;)!
Oooooooooooo… Das a spiicy metaball!
Slap bigger tires in there brother. My thomisus can handle 2.0 easy. That will both look and feel extremely better
Edit: also yes, for 1x over 5speed in the back, you need a narrow wide ring
Yeh chuck a narrow wide on it and then ditch the front derailleur, but maybe your high gears are worn on the cassette? Might be new chain + cassette time.
PSA: one of my bikes 1×9 doesn’t index quite right, and slips on the 2 highest gears occasionally – it’s probably past its use by date but it only slipped occasionally so I thought it was no biggie. Cut to a few days ago I was ripping it up a slight incline living my best life, beta band – dry the rain fully kicked in and I stood up for some extra grind – chain slipped and I nutted the bar, scraped my shin on the pedals and very nearly lost it with my foot hitting the ground / suuuper close to eating a big bag of shit. Extremely lucky I wasn’t going any faster.
So yeh, new chain and cassette if it’s slipping. It’s not your chain length. Maybe check your limit screw incase the chain is going too far over.
This bike would really benefit from larger and black tires. Those tanwalls look out of place and dont complement that gorgeous frame color well.
You got a tall frame
Currently building up the same bike for my gf
