If you are visiting Norway and the port of Skjolden then here’s an idea for a morning trip off the ship, you can join this tour and cycle a few kilometres along a quiet country road, then take a hike up to Drivandefossen Waterfall.
We were there in September 2024 aboard the P&O ship Aurora.

The hike was ‘challenging’ as this was in September and they had a couple of weeks of heavy rainfall previously so the path was part washed out and very slippy!
At least five of us slipped and fell over coming back down when the ‘guide’ took us off piste, which was not so good.

The cycling is a gentle uphill all the way to the hike with a couple of sharp steep slopes, it follows the valley road and the Floane River which you get to cross a couple of times.
It’s a difficult hike that may be easier in the Summer months.
We also got to stop at the Llama farm on the way back down to feed the very friendly Llamas.
Enjoy the scenery, it is stunning and we were very lucky with the weather.

This is the first of a few Norway videos I’m planning to publish, the others will include kayaking, a mountain top hike and more cycle touring so look out for those coming soon.
