Both the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS are amongst the best in their respective classes, this shows the different design intentions and the resulting carcass differences between a multipurpose street tire and something more focused on going really fast in the dry.

I needed this. Thanks 🙏
Looks like one is runflat, the other isn't. But normal runflats are pretty heavy, so nothing I would prefere…
Good info. I've watched Top Gear since Jeremy looked human and Chi's Harris since back when he had hair. Neither ever explained it that way. Well done.
I love the pilot sport 5 I run on my hot hatch!
Farted real big watchin this
Fun Fact: the tread on the track tire is
softer than the tread on the road tire.
Are the track tyres run flat tyres?
Less sidewall flex on the Bridgestone considering the stiff tire?
Goodyear assurance all season tires are so garbage that one hand can completely crush and flatten it.
Michelin sport confort ? After 4 years with.Not really…
I CARE TO SEE THIS !
I have new but very cheap Chinese tyres on a Lexus (put on by dealer when I bought it last month) and I don’t think they are very good. Grip okay, handle okay but even though they are balanced, the steering wheel doesn’t shake or anything (the usual response with badly balanced wheels), I just get a mild vibration sensation through the steering wheel (its like im feeling EVERYTHING from the surface as the wheels go round, as if the tyre tread or compound is crap quality or something). It’s really off putting and spoils the enjoyment. Im going get balancing done again, maybe swap rears for the fronts, see if it makes any difference. Had same issue on a Ford Fiesta years ago when I got two new budget front tyres. I could feel everything from the road (even what look like smooth surfaces) transferring through to the steering wheel yet I never got that with the original tyres. Im hoping it’s the fact they are cheap and maybe not as precisely engineered that is the cause. Everything else on the car is spot on (suspension, all that jazz etc). Be interesting your thoughts.
Thanks! You channel is the best! I have a question if anyone knows the answer. besides difference in overall diameter, is it ok to fit a 235/45R17 on a 7,5 wide rim or should I stay with 225/50R17? I drive all season all year round in south Sweden. Jaguar S type. Sometimes like a hooligan, mostly normal driving.
dude is stores like amazon people say that your review are bullshit and tires that you say are good they are trash
That doesnt prove anything, the difference is in the composition of the tyre ( the chemistry of rubber).
Actually that softer michelin is a good indication that is better on wet road than the other, and the stiffer one maybe a little better at longevity.
What really matter is the pressure of the tyre regarding handling, and not hand pushing 😂
I would of never of thought to fair very informational
maybe michelin is non running flat tire thats why its flexible..
Are the track tyres tougher against pot holes? My Goodyear F1 sport plus 235/35- R19 on my S3 have just failed the MOT for compromised inside walls. So not kerbs but likely pot hole damage. These are the first super low profile wheels and tyres that I’ve had. Are they more susceptible to pot hole damage?
You're gorgeous
Very interesting!
Ah yes, track tires must be rigid like a surfboard 😂
The Super Sport and Sport Cup 2 are hard compounds. The Pilot 4S is an all season UHP tire. Comparing a delicious apple to a honeycrisp apple
Strange way to test sport tires, tomorrow every wannabe racer gone think his run-flat is a sport tire. 😂
Michelin only
Are those two tires the same size?
OKaaay. So this might be the reason why I like run flats. Good to know
MICHELIN 💪💪💪
A smart tire shop once told me never to squeeze or throw a tire that is not on the rime and is deflated, especially if you want to put it on a performance car , because it's impossible to balance it properly afterwards.
I ran extreme summer tire once and man o god the dry performance was like putting on new coilovers and a rear sway bar on the car. Thing is, once it rains your car is hella slippery lol
Good example
Solves a question I had in my head
Thank you sir
