My carbon seatpost slips about 1cm after a 10miles ride . Is it a good idea to double sided tape a piece of 150grit sand paper in between where the seatpost contacts the clamp (highlighted in red , the clamp works by expanding and pushing the seatpost into the frame) . It's a pretty snug fit with the sandpaper installed when installing the seatpost and the clamp ( the clamp is loosened as much as possible). Will doing this damage my seatpost if i tighten it up to spec? My seatpost doesn't seem to slip anymore after doing this.

Did you try putting fresh carbon assembly paste on the seat tube? That fixed all my slippage issues on my bike.

    1. Use carbon assembly paste

    2. Pull the tightening wedge out, clean it all and grease the thread and then reassemble it. Sometimes it hits the torque tightness due to being dirty but not the intended wedge tightness

  3. Carbon paste, a small tube from finishline is like $3. For the love of God don’t sand your seat tube

  4. I assume you’ve tried the following:

    1) clean post and inside with alcohol
    2) apply carbon paste, preferably a grittier one
    3) clean the shim and bolt also with alcohol
    4)grease bolt for shim
    5) torque to spec
