What a fabulous place to ride, we’re both falling more in love with cycling in Spain and fuelled a lot better on this ride – what a lovely cafe to end the ride with (Cafe Seamos Calpe).

Thank you so much to Apex cycling for having us along. Looking forward to the next 4 days.

  1. The Rates is indeed famous, but it's only because so many people do it, it's not very pretty, it's kinda easy (even my 78kg body did it in the big ring) and there are a lot of cars, on the plus side, I did see Mathieu van der Poel there.

  2. Do you clean your helmet pads? I got really bad contact dermatitis from being a lazy bugger and forgetting to wash them.
It made my forehead all flakey and red.

  3. If you hold back or lie to your coach he can’t train you properly.
Long or hard rides are like no training rides or even set you back in training.

  4. I'm not sure if you are quite in your stride yet and entirely on the same page. I think you are both desperately keen to get on. Illness always comes when not expected but you are putting in good numbers, 93 odd miles yesterday, 62 today. All good. I know you have bug mikes to do and need to get on but I'm confident in you both. You are a cracking team.

Enjoy the rest and looking forward to the rest of the rides. Calpe area does look rather stunning.

  5. Fantastic ride Amy and Kyle!! Don't think I've ever had my notes 💶 with tears rejected in the UK!! Keep building up the miles in those legs and get some Spanish Apples 🍏😂🚴‍♀️🚴🏻‍♂️❤️

  6. Another nice ride, shame about the cold you picked up but hopefully its just a mild one🤞Enjoy your century ride if it goes ahead👍

  7. Hi Amy I have just viewed the Apex site with there prices of the different camps could you advise me please 1 ..A contact email and 2.. Is it expensive to ship your own bike over there . Once again another excellent video and thank you for your Time Take care both of you

  8. IT´S NOT PRONOUNCED "RATS" SAY IT RIGHT : R.A.T.E.S. (The same when people say TENERIF for T.EN.E.R.I.F.E. I know that´s not easy for English speakers, but you must adapt to our local stuff, including our language!!!!)

  9. Great video, wish I was fit enough to cycle up col de rates, your videos do inspire me to try. I mentioned to you in September when you cycled back from Italy, I was riding my Vespa to Spain and back. Check out my video where I went up col de rates on my Vespa to see how lovely it is when the sky is blue and sun is out!

  10. Things to learn about Spanish cafes. The coffee sizes are small but they taste of coffee not hot water. The cakes are not great compared with Uk. And it’s about a third of the price

  11. If you visit the United States, be careful about ordering flapjacks or you will be in for a big surprise. That is a slightly less used synonym for breakfast pancakes.

While there are people here that may use the term the way Brits do, and might make a home flapjack recipe similar to what you eat, but breakfast restaurants almost universally (in any U.S. state) will serve you pancakes if you ask for flapjacks.

I dont even think any bakery or coffee shop serves something similar using a different name. Dont worry, plenty of other tasty treats to eat here to go with your chai latte.

  12. Nice vid as always, but did come across a little entitled nr the end.
Gifted bikes, gifted training camp yet looked mardy when the 5 Euros wasn’t accepted.
    Stay humble plz !!
