A few years ago, I was at an ice fishing tournament, weigh in, And the official doing the weight said my fish was dead, and it was not eligible. Needless to say he reached in the hole of teeth, it latched on thrashed a few times he left a trail of blood out of the tent 2nd place fish. One of the guys yelled looks kicking to me!!
I’ve never had the chance to lip a like, because I’ve never had the chance to catch one. However, if I did, I would not lip it, because I’m not a moron, and I value having nerve endings in my fingers. If that fish decided to bite and jerk a couple of times, you’re day would be ending early, and you’d be making an unwanted trip to the hospital.
I live in Wisconsin and yesterday ice fishing we caught a 30 incher and i reached in the hole and grabed behind his gill plate and my thumb got caught in his mouth and he chomped down and we had to pry his mouth open with the ice scoop i was pumping out it looked like someone was murdered 😅 🙃 😳
